Cleveland Metropolitan School District
Education: Master’s degree in educational administration and supervision
Greatest Inspiration: My kids. Every time I have a bad or tough day, I simply need to visit a school, or, now, remotely connect with my Cleveland Metropolitan School District scholars.
Best Advice: Never give advice. I went to a supervisor who also was a mentor of mine for advice. After he helped me consider my options, he said, “Good luck with your decision.” I made my decision, which he immediately overturned. When I asked him why, he explained that he was happy to help me think of my options but, in the end, the decisions I make had to be mine, not his.
Most Important Skill: There is a strength called self-assurance. I truly don’t believe in the “no-win” situation. So, if I’m confronted by what seems to be one, I challenge myself to find another way.
Fun Fact: I belonged to the American
Coaster Enthusiasts of America.
