Grace Wakulchik
Akron Children’s Hospital
Education: Case Western Reserve University, bachelor’s degree in sociology, bachelor’s degree in nursing and master’s degree in nursing; Kent State University, master’s degree in business administration
Toughest Challenge: Balancing the demands of four children and a career as a hospital administrator required exceptional coordination. It was sometimes chaotic, but also the best time of my life.
Important Lesson Learned: Our organization is successful when we put aside personal goals and ambitions and put the needs of kids and families first.
What I’d Tell 16-Year-Old Me: Your career is long, and your life is short. Make choices that support your family, your passions and your career. Get a good education, be kind to others and volunteer. Listen and appreciate what makes us the same and different as people.
Who’d Play Me in a Biopic: I would be honored to be played by Meryl Streep.
