O’Bryan, Stephen M.
Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP
Education: Bowling Green State University, bachelor’s degree; Case Western Reserve University School of Law
Greatest Inspiration: Walter C. Kelley. He was the lead partner at Kelley and McCann, a small law firm where I was first employed as a lawyer in 1969. He was an iconic public law lawyer and outstanding person.
Best Advice: Be considerate to others.
Keep your nose to the grindstone and the rest will take care of itself.
Proudest Moment: When I led the successful merger discussions in 2000 that led to the merger of our firm Kelley McCann and Livingstone with Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP in January 2001 and being named partner-in-charge of Taft’s Cleveland office and a member of the firm’s executive committee
Most Important Skill: Learning how to listen to and deal with colleagues, clients, judges and others with professionalism
