Stephen M. O’Bryan
Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP
Education: Case Western Reserve University School of Law; bachelor’s degree, Bowling Green State University
Greatest Inspiration: Walter C. Kelley. He was the lead partner at Kelley and McCann, a small law firm where I was first employed as a lawyer in 1969. He was an iconic public law lawyer and outstanding person.
Proudest Moment: When I led the successful merger discussions in 2000 that led to the merger of our firm Kelley McCann and Livingstone with Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP in January 2001 and being named partner-in-charge of Taft’s Cleveland office and a member of the firm’s executive committee
Fun Fact: My initials, which are SOB, have created, on occasion, disparaging comments. However, once I received a coffee cup at the office containing those initials and the words, “Super Outstanding Boss.”
