Q: What are the benefits of learning leadership skills at a young age?
A: “We feel that young people are much more pliable in the way that they take on leadership development at a young age,” says Effective Leadership Academy founder Flo Brett. “When we get to older students and adults, they tend to have a set habit and set ways of doing things. There is so much evidence that proves that we need leadership and life-skills training, because it’s now not being seen in students who are at college level and working at their first job. We start as young as fifth grade by providing them with extra tools and a new toolkit. They’ll be able to put that into practice and make it happen so by the time they do get into high school, college and beyond, they’ll be in much better position than our current middle school and high school students.”
