Mom-tested Advice:
Having the C-section made me feel a little disconnected from both of my kids when they were born. When you don’t feel anything and can’t see anything, you don’t feel part of the experience. Someone just hands you a baby when it’s all over, and that’s it. It took me a little longer to bond with them.
I wish someone had told my husband to save as much vacation time as possible for when we all came home. He only had one week (including the time we were in the hospital). When I brought my babies home, it was a time when I really didn’t want a lot of help. I wanted to bond with my babies. Really the only person I wanted around was my husband.
