My advice to new dads is this: Go home. Sleep in your own bed. Enjoy it while it lasts. It's a nice idea to be close to your wife and new baby but in all honesty you will sleep better at home.
Giving birth is exhilarating and exhausting at the same time. I would have preferred very few visitors, but that is not my husband's DNA.
