When Charles Darwin left for his five-year voyage to South America and the Pacific, people believed all living things had remained unchanged since their divine creation. This summer’s Darwin exhibit offers an in-depth look at the father of modern biology and his discovery that all species evolve. Personal items, such as Darwin’s Bible and pistol, provide new insights into his ocean journey, and specimens he himself collected are displayed alongside animal skeletons that show evolution at work.
