Bust out those 20-sided dice and Star Trek uniforms, geeks. Con on the Cob at the Days Inn at Richfield Village Nov. 10-13 is your nirvana. Founder Andy Hopp tells us what to expect.
Gaming
While you can play hundreds of card games such as Pathfinder and Hero Flix, Hopp is looking forward to introducing people to games he’s created such as Low Life, a Dungeons and Dragons-style role-playing game. “My favorite thing to do is run my games for people,” he says.
Cosplay
Halloween may be over, but don’t hang up the costumes just yet. Dress the part for costume contests including one during the Masquerave, an all-ages dance party featuring Twister and more. “The most recognizable characters are from movies,” says Hopp.
Talks
In addition to panels and roundtable discussions, fans can also argue the cases of Star Wars vs. Star Trek or Marvel vs. DC in a series of geeky mock trials. “We actually have a judge wearing a white wig and gavel,” says Hopp. “People take the stand and present their case for why one’s better than the other.”
