Discover the Dinosaurs
Velociraptors and Stegosauruses are stomping over to the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland — and no, they’re not filming another installment of Jurassic World. In all their animatronic glory, dozens of dinosaurs are on display for the Discover the Dinosaurs experience that features robotic reproductions straight out of the Triassic, Jurassic or Cretaceous periods. All younger T. rex lovers can rejoice along their adult counterparts: Dino rides and fossil digs are available for the more daring young paleontologists at the weekend-long event. $22. Disney on Ice
Sure, you’ve caught Frozen on the silver screen, but have you seen Anna and Elsa do a triple axel? Inviting you to “Follow Your Heart,” Disney’s on Ice spectacle spans a wide range of beloved films. Above the Surface
It’s been more than five years since local artist Anthony Bartholomew ended his life, but Maria Neil Art Project co-owners John Farina and Adam Tully are still determined to have his work be seen. They approached Bartholomew’s parents and collected more of his work for this exhibit, which opens during Walk All Over Waterloo, the monthly art walk in the Waterloo Arts District. Bartholomew, who was a celebrated geometric printmaker and Jakprints employee, created work that demonstrates simplicity in shape and color. Young Kings Vinyl Pop-up
Those searching for some underground vinyl are in for a treat. In the lower level Locker Room section of the hip bowling alley-concert hall Mahall’s 20 Lanes, Hingetown’s Young Kings opens up shop, inviting vinyl seekers to dig through crates for sonic treasure. Playne Jayne and DJ Red-I will be spinning beats all night long. Busy collectors can stop by Kings’ brick-and-mortar shop on West 29th Street during the week.
