Chris Smith has mastered the art of catching 30 marshmallows in his mouth and using PVC pipes as musical instruments. Then there's the five hours a day the 27-year-old spends in blue greasepaint as one-third of Blue Man Group. "It's like being a first-grader in a sandbox," Smith says of the iconic show, which started off-Broadway in 1991 and visits the Palace Theatre Feb. 12-17. Children will enjoy the silliness, while adults will appreciate the themes. "We explore whether or not technology is bringing us closer or pulling us farther apart," Smith says. Maybe most impressive is the nonverbal group's ability to improvise and act as one. "We are all cut from the same can of paint," Smith says. 1615 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, 216-241-6000. playhousesquare.org
