Three to Buy
Special releases are the ear candy of Record Store Day. Here are three limited editions to watch for.

The Long Goodbye: LCD Soundsystem Live at Madison Square Garden
LCD Soundsystem may be gone, but their music will live forever. Frontman James Murphy completely remixed their last hurrah, immortalized in the film Shut Up and Play the Hits, for a Record Store Day release in a box set of five LPs. Catch every second of sound from the nearly four-hour 2011 concert. lcdsoundsystem.com
Neil Young
Official Release Series Discs 5-8
Originally released in 1973, Time Fades Away is a fan favorite that has never seen a reissue, until now. The remastered version of the live album will be included in this four vinyl box set, which will only see a 3,500 release run. This is one old-school vinyl release that may never hit the Web, so snap it up while you can. neilyoung.com
Flaming Lips
7 Skies H3
The Flaming Lips are a perennial Record Store Day presence, and this year is no exception. One of two April 19 releases (the other is a Devo cover), 7 Skies H3 is a reissue of their hourlong single of the same name, released on 12-inch vinyl. While you're mellowing out, don't forget that it's a condensed version of a 24-hour song. flaminglips.com
