The pounding bass of Krewella's "Alive" pulsated through the crowd as disc jockey Hardwell commanded the mania at last year's three-day Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas. Yes, music festivals have evolved since nearly a half-million hippies took over a farm in Bethel, N.Y., during Woodstock, but the shared release in music has changed very little. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum explores that bond in Common Ground: The Music Festival Experience running through Jan. 31. The exhibit examines the history of festivals and immerses visitors in the mayhem with a film depicting iconic moments.
