Author Eve Ensler began thinking about vaginas and in 1996, she conceived the first 17-part, three-woman show, "The Vagina Monologues." Five years later, the internationally renowned production continues its run, playing in multiple cities simultaneously.
The Cleveland production stars Starla Benford and Sherri Parker Lee. Four other performers — Carol Kane, Anne E. DeChant, Rebecca from Q104 and Lisa Ray from "Tony and Tiny's Wedding" — rotate through the show's May schedule.
While the production's content might be uncomfortable for some, Ensler says, once women started talking, "you couldn't stop them."
