Burlesco at The 9
Harkening back to the debaucherous heyday of the Roxy Theater with glamorous, cheeky and extravagant night out. Le Femme Mystique’s new Burlesco at The 9 event evokes the Roxy’s vaudeville and burlesque shows with a variety of burlesque performers, drag queens, torch singers and belly dancers. Lego lovers connect at this annual gathering devoted to the classic tiles. Dub Champions Festival
Groove to reggae vibes at this fest. Paying tribute to the roots of dub music, a genre that grew out of reggae in the ‘60s, the show features a headlining set from legendary dub music artist Lee “Scratch” Perry. The main stage also showcases other dub artists including Columbus-based Doctah X. Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival
Just as the film fest wraps, catch the Cleveland premiere of One Last Prayer. Directed by Cleveland Heights filmmaker Myron Davis, the film follows the story of a struggling father who unexpectedly learns that his daughter has a rare illness. Night Market Cleveland
This popular market takes you overseas without even leaving the city. Based on the famous night markets throughout Asia, this local re-creation is filled with Asian vendors hawking goods and food from AsiaTown staples such as Li Wah and #1 Pho.
