Patio season hits its peak this month, so lose the roof and relax. We love the old standbys, too, but check out these four newer spots that have taken it outside.
Barrio
806 Literary Road, Cleveland
Capacity: 36
A stone floor and fireplace meet festive lights and flowers at this Tremont spot. "There are hanging lights and marigolds everywhere," says owner Joe Kahn. "It's a fun patio."
Brew Garden
18590 Bagley Road, Middleburg Heights
Capacity: 70 at the bar, 175 at tables
The patio's exotic decorations create a vacation vibe in the middle of the suburbs. "We planted bamboo," says general manager Claudine Aviles. "The patio bar almost looks like a tiki bar."
Barle Soup and Sandwich
2479 Lee Blvd., Cleveland Heights
Capacity: 25-30
The Rockefeller Building courtyard garden makes you forget you're steps from the street. "There are lots of beautiful, lush plantings and fountains," says general manager Erin Petre.
Club Isabella
2175 Cornell Road, Cleveland
Capacity: 40
This romantic spot, which opened last summer, offers a cool respite from the sun. "We have a shade sail," says chef Fabio Mota, "which is like a big sailboat sail that shades the whole patio."
