Facebook groups and Instagram stories have captured glimpses of celebrity Chef Gordon Ramsay dining around Cleveland’s local restaurant scene this week, enjoying a meal and possibly filming in Northeast Ohio for a new TV show.
Ramsay, known widely for hosting shows like Kitchen Nightmares and Hell’s Kitchen, dined at Fahrenheit in Public Square Tuesday evening, spicing up the night for restaurant owner and chef Rocco Whalen. The two posed for a picture with executive chef Luis Ocasio and director of operations Dave Feimster that appeared on the restaurant’s Instagram page.
“We had the honor of hosting the one and only Chef Gordon Ramsay for a visit,” reads the post’s caption. “Incredible energy, next-level conversations, and serious culinary respect all around.”
And with it, Ramsay’s order: sashimi, sushi, chop salads, pork chops, shortribs, schnitzel and tableside bananas Foster.
Chef Ramsay also appeared at Lyla’s Family Restaurant in Cuyahoga Falls amongst tents, equipment, camera crews and rumors about filming, according to multiple social media posts.
Neighboring restaurant Buckeye Tavern took to their Facebook to post a “behind-the-scenes” pic of the crew outside the restaurant, captioning the post, “Gordon Ramsey [sic] is filming at Lyla’s Restaurant next door to us. Stop down this week to check it out.”
Another glimpse, caught by Facebook user Bo Smirnow, showed Ramsay stepping out of a black SUV at Lyla’s. “The rumors are true. Gordon Ramsay is in Cuyahoga Falls, filming at Lyla’s Restaurant on Bailey Rd,” Smirnow wrote in the post’s caption.
Although murmurs circle Ramsay’s new series Secret Service, show producer Maria Afshari confirmed that the filming is not for that show, but could not reveal further details, according to a report from the Akron Beacon Journal. Despite not having a confirmation for project details, Ashfari also reported to Akron Beacon Journal that Lyla’s will be closed all week for filming.
