Neighborhood faithfuls don’t mind waiting in line at this Larchmere diner for big-enough-for-two portions of old-school breakfast and lunch favorites. While the kitchen knocks out stellar stacks of pancakes and towering sandwiches, go for the oft-overlooked liver and onions ($8.25). Each half-pound serving of beef liver is dipped in seasoned flour, grilled and then smothered in an almost-equal portion of Spanish onions grilled in margarine to tender translucency. If you want gravy, just ask — owner Allan Windsor honors the request by dousing the entree with from-scratch brown sauce. And if that’s not enough, the hearty meal comes with a choice of two sides and two slices of grilled Texas toast. Also Try: The signature corned beef hash ($9.50), an oft-lauded amalgamation of corned beef, green peppers and hash browns comes with two eggs any style. The Works Omelet ($11.95) is a dinner plate-sized behemoth stuffed with bacon, sausage, ham, onions, peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes and a full slice each of Swiss, American and cheddar cheeses. 12600 Larchmere Blvd., Cleveland, 216-791-8550
