Walking into Bo Loong, you feel as if you’ve stumbled into a bygone era. The chairs are covered with plastic, the wallpaper hints at the ’80s and the fish tanks are a little cloudy. But the food is so good and arrives in such ridiculous quantities, you’ll forget all that chintziness the second the plates show up. We’re partial to the squid with green pepper and black bean sauce ($10.95), an airport runway-sized helping of perfectly cooked, chewy-but-not-too-chewy squid, roughly chopped peppers and onions all swimming in a sea of kicky sauce. Scoop some over the seemingly endless bowls of pleasantly sticky white rice that arrive unbidden, eat your fill and you’ll still be taking home two more meals, easy. It’s an unbeatable seafood dish at a price that’s not the least bit fishy. Also Try: Six doughy pork pot stickers only set you back $6.95. Each is almost the size of a fist, and they’re basically a meal on their own, especially if you start with a small bowl of wonton soup ($2). 3922 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, 216-391-3113
