Twice a year, Cleveland-area restaurants are thrust into the spotlight that they deserve. Once before the cruel winter of Northeast Ohio relents and once more before it officially returns.
Hopefully, the long, cold, gloomy nights are still weeks away. Thankfully, Cleveland Restaurant Week is back Nov. 6-18 and features more than 30 of the area’s finest dining experiences.
During Cleveland Restaurant Week, the participating establishments will be offering three-course prix fixe dinners. Generally, these meals will be priced at $39, but individual restaurants do have the option to deviate either up or down on that figure.
This November marks the 17th year that Cleveland Restaurant Week has graced the area and is the largest such promotion in Northeast Ohio.
Here are five of the restaurants we’re excited to see participating in Cleveland Restaurant Week.
Bell & Flower - 86 North Main St., Chagrin Falls
Bell & Flower labels itself as a social kitchen that’s located just north of the Chagrin River in the heart of Chagrin Falls. This prix fixe menu features multiple seafood options as well as a Nashville-style chicken sandwich before finishing things off with either an apple cobbler or a warm brownie.
Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse - 21 Main St., Westlake
Hyde Park is one of the finest steakhouses around, featuring two Northeast Ohio locations. This fine dining experience is one to check out. The Westlake location, in Crocker Park, will be offering a prix fixe menu that features a variety of entrees to pair with one of their appetizers – the lobster bisque is terrific – before ending your experience with two flourless chocolate tortes.
Lago East Bank - 1091 West 10th St., Cleveland
One of the downtown area’s best dining experiences can be found at Lago East Bank, and checking it out is a great idea. This upscale Italian eatery features stuffed peppers, beef short rib and a romano-crusted chicken breast, among other things as part of their prix fixe menu.
Twisted Taino - 5633 Pearl Rd., Parma
A great option for some Latin-inspired cuisine is Twisted Taino in Parma. Starting off with empanadas or a quesadilla is a great option before moving onto a list of entrees that include stuffed mofongo, jibaro or pastelon.
Blue Canyon Kitchen & Tavern - 8960 Wilcox Drive, Twinsburg
Blue Canyon Kitchen & Tavern may have the most expansive prix fixe menu of any in this edition of Cleveland Restaurant Week. With six different options for the first course and seven possible selections for the second course, there’s something for everyone to enjoy before wrapping up with either the vanilla bean crème brûlée with fresh berries or a chocolate mousse bombe.
