They say eat, drink and be merry, and in the Midwest that’s what Christmas is all about. Though perhaps no drink has an ironclad of a fist on the holiday season in Cleveland as Great Lakes Brewing Company’s Christmas Ale.
For 30 years now, families and old friends have been pouring this spiced ale for one another to drink over a Christmas dinner for a nostalgic taste on a cold winter’s night.
This holiday ale was crafted in 1992, uniting the subtle spice of ginger and cinnamon with sweet notes of honey into a blend that has proven to be as iconic as old Saint Nick himself.
For those looking to get their hands on this Cleveland holiday specialty before the chill of winter sets in, join Great Lakes Brewing Company at their Market Avenue Brewpub on Oct. 20 for the Christmas Ale First Pour and 30th Anniversary Celebration. The event will get everyone in the Christmas spirit early with Christmas karaoke, giveaways and a holiday menu.
Great Lakes Brewing Company’s 30th anniversary batch of Christmas Ale will be available in markets beginning Oct. 24, giving Clevelanders a taste of the holidays from here to New Years.
