Move over taco pizza and Buffalo chicken pizza. Our new obsession is the potato pierogie pizza ($11.59 small, $14.29 large, $16.99 jumbo).
At P. Jay’s Pizza in Parma, the eatery has turned its passion for pierogies and pizza into one perfect piece of pie. It all starts with the house-made dough, known for its crisp outside and fluffy inside. It gets topped with melted butter and then layered with a smooth, buttery helping of cheddar mashed potatoes.
Those potatoes get an extra boost of flavor thanks to salt, pepper and a bit of garlic salt. That airy, whipped layer then gets topped with the sweet snap of caramelized onions and melted cheddar cheese. The specialty pie comes served, of course, with a side of sour cream.
“You’ve really got to put the sour cream on there to get the whole pierogi taste,” says managing partner Margaux Zannoni Gibbs. 5859 Ridge Road, Parma, 440-885-4355, pjayspizza.com
