You might not be able to celebrate Easter the way you originally planned — no elaborate Easter egg hunts or Sunday service with your extended family. But these four local businesses are offering creative and tasty options that can still be ordered in time to make your situation a little sweeter.
Cute Little Cake Shop
Fans of cake (that’s us!) surely need to place their orders at this Strongsville sweet spot. But there’s plenty more than just cake balls ($13.50 per 6-pack) here — there’s a nice assortment of gluten-free cupcakes and truffles. Truffles come in decadent flavors such as salted caramel, dark chocolate raspberry and Grand Marnier. And the shop has set up contactless outdoor pickup spots. Get your orders in by April 9.
The Macaron Tea Room
The Broadview Heights pastry shop, known for tasty and creative takes on macarons ($27 per dozen), is here to help fill your Easter tables with French-inspired treats. In addition to macarons, the spot is offering gourmet meringues, sugar cookies, eclairs, fruit tarts, cream puffs and more. Owner Alla Yakimiv is taking preorders through April 8 and then will be accepting walk-ins at the bakery Friday and Saturday. Call the shop at 440-334-9119 or themacarontearoom@yahoo.com.
Sweet Bean Candies
Kristin Barnes is an artist. Just take a look at her beautifully hand-painted chocolate Easter eggs ($10-$40) in delicious flavors such as marshmallow creme, maple creme or peanut butter. Or the giant hollow Easter egg ($20) in shades of glimmering blue or speckled yellow, green and pink. But just know, her knack for creating masterpieces on the outside also translates to damn good treats on the inside. Get your orders in by April 6.
Sweet Costo
Local pastry chef Shelby Costo makes it easy to celebrate Easter from home. Order one (or all) of her fun kits for an egg-cellent day. A bunny cocktail kit ($20-$34), which includes homemade cereal milk liqueur and chocolate bunny cups is a no-brainer for folks who want to imbibe, but the cake trifle kit lets the kiddos (or just you) get in on the fun with cake pieces and custard and all the instructions to make your own fresh fruit filling. Sprinkles and plastic stemless champagne flutes are included. Get your orders in by April 8.
