Lemus, Jacqueline
Ursuline College
Born to Latino immigrants, Clevelander Jacqueline Lemus is a married, bilingual, first-generation college student who volunteers as an interpreter for other immigrant families so their voices are heard. Her mission is to have more nurses look and sound like her to improve patient advocacy. The 23-year-old UH nursing assistant, who also works two additional jobs to support her BSN studies, will continue advocating for non-English speakers as a pediatric ER nurse at Rainbow Babies
after graduation.
