Capper, Beverly
As director of the undergraduate bachelor’s degree in nursing program at Case Western Reserve University’s Frances Payne Bolton Schoool of Nursing, Beverly Capper, DNP, RNC-NIC, excels as a leader. Although the number of students in the nursing program is nearly 500, Capper manages to maintain remarkable knowledge of all student and faculty performances. She takes time to meet with the different levels of students regularly and handles the many challenges of that program with patience, creativity, fairness and grace.
Capper led a significant revision to the program which was implemented in 2023 and resulted in strategic reevaluation of clinical hours, and is guiding faculty in the necessary steps toward competency-based education. Capper collaborated with the Medical School Public Health Program to develop interprofessional community experiences that increase student learning experiences in underserved communities. Under her leadership, the school created a discover wellness course to help students be better prepared for their own wellness journey.
