Jukiewicz, Deniece
Deniece Jukiewicz, Ph.D.(C), RN, ACNS-BS, is an assistant professor of nursing at Cuyahoga Community College. In her role, she directs, manages and evaluates student learning in the clinical setting. An expert on how behavior and social detriments of health (SDOH) influence people’s coping abilities, she has focused her career on learning theory and research methodologies to help support and strengthen the care nurses provide through investigation and research into Crohn’s disease.
Jukiewicz has been a nurse and caregiver for the Crohn’s disease population at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus for almost 20 years and was the lead auditor on a research paper titled, “Reviewing Opioid Use, Monitoring, and Legislature: Nursing Perspectives.”
She is currently working on a study that examines the relationship between self-efficacy, cognitive and emotional illness representations, Crohn’s disease severity and health-related quality of life in teens with Crohn’s disease.
