When Will is not on the football field or playing point guard on the basketball team, the seventh-grader at Chagrin Falls Middle School spends most of his time riding his bike around town with his friends. He bonds with his brothers, who are 9 and 16, during game nights at their home in Chagrin Falls.
Just waking up and knowing I have my friends and my family is pretty nice. It worries me sometimes when I'm not with my family because I just love my parents and my brothers so much.
I have so many friends here. I wouldn't know if I would necessarily call it being popular, but I have a lot of friends and we're sort of a group of 10 to 15 kids. We all play sports and we hang out all the time on the weekends. We usually go into town in Chagrin on Fridays and maybe eat at Parkside Grille or something, and then we go back to someone's house and have a sleepover. We're all over the place and always at each others' houses.
Once we were playing this game called Tips on the trampoline. You throw the ball up to each other while you're bouncing and if you drop it, you lose. It's sort of hard, because you're bouncing and you have to catch it in the air and throw it back at the same time. It was a tournament, and whoever lost would have to eat a sandwich that the winners came up with. On one sandwich we had soy sauce and onions. We would make rules where you would have to keep it in your mouth for 30 seconds because swallowing it would not be good.
I want to do something with sports when I get older, like maybe sports medicine. It would be sort of hard to get to the NBA or NFL, but I think it's very possible. You have to work very hard, and sometimes I just get caught up in school and don't have the time to be playing basketball every second. I think being an FBI agent would be fun just to be in on the action, but my mom said it's too dangerous.
