Cotton candy is a treat that evokes sweet nostalgia, transporting its tasters back to summers spent as a child. When Emily Harpel launched Art of Sucre in 2016, she did so with a modern sweet tooth in mind, spinning her sweet treats with bold, inventive flavors in front of live audiences at weddings, get-togethers and events around town.
Now, with many events downsizing or postponed until the pandemic is over, Harpel is widening her reach by selling her cotton candy online in cute, handy little packages ($9-$10). When her new site launches this month, customers will be able to purchase six original flavors such as Champagne, pina colada, orange bourbon, watermelon, bubblegum and sugar cookie.
Limited edition flavors, such as marshmallow, will also be rolled out each month, with each package holding up to four cones-worth of cotton candy. “You can’t get cotton candy everywhere, so we pride ourselves on being able to offer something that is wholly ours and delicious at the same time,” says Harpel. artofsucre.com
