More like a gallery than a boutique, bliS’ inventory combines fashion with comfort and day-to-night versatility. Inside the store, art-deco furniture flanks full-length mirrors, creating a natural atmosphere that lets the clothing speak for itself.

Meyers and Susan Salkin, who opened bliS in 2003 at the American Crafts Gallery in Larchmere and moved to Eton Chagrin Boulevard in April, cater to women ages 40 to 75 who might like to try something new. The store is filled with wearable art, hand-selected at local and national craft and fashion shows. Almost nothing is manufactured or mass-produced; every piece is dyed, sewed and finished with an artistic flair, be it clothing, accessories, jewelry or handbags.
“Many of our items are mix and match, not just set outfits,” Salkin says. Take the silver, crinkled taffeta jacket ($200) that can be paired with either cargo pants or a skirt-like wide leg pants, both in the same fabric ($155 each).
Cocoon Ra handmade purses are crafted from asymmetrical flaps of overlapping leather, accented with copper and wood and available in varying sizes ($85 to $390). Then, there is the handmade jewelry in a rainbow of different metals, finishes and accents — from organic-shaped, brushed silver pieces with freshwater pearls to geometric-shaped bronze pieces with beads and baubles.
