For co-owners Caitlin Dobson and Sarah Cisheimer, offering gluten-free and vegan-inspired treats has become more than a profession; it’s a passion. “We wanted to offer people items that they felt comfortable sharing with their friends and family regardless of their dietary preference or need,” says Dobson. Launched in 2015, Floressa Cafe offers a slew of made-from-scratch confections so good you won’t know they’re gluten-free or vegan, as is the case with brownies made with coconut oil and shredded organic zucchini. While the bakery duo has plans to open a storefront in the Clark-Fulton neighborhood next year, customers can order treats and custom creations online for pickup on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from the cafe’s production kitchen in Ohio City. Of course, there’s also fan-favorite cakes such as French toast, hazelnut creme, chocolate peanut butter fudge and cookies and cream — all made with real butter and organic eggs. “Our slogan is ‘naturally good,’ ” says Dobson. “We make everything from scratch.” 3800 Bridge Ave., Cleveland, 440-941-1302, floressacafe.com
