Experience a garden tour like never before. Betty Ott Talking Garden for the Blind takes you past just looking at the plants and allows you to smell, feel and even hear about the plants too. Located within the Rockefeller Park Greenhouse and Botanical Garden, it has wide paths, fragrant herbs and geraniums, and audio descriptions of the displays that make it a sensory feast, even for the visually impaired. “The garden is intended to appeal to the various senses,” explains greenhouse manager Perrin Verzi. “There are features that make it easier for people without sight to visit and maneuver through and enjoy the garden.” For example, visit a raised garden bed stocked with textured plants such as fuzzy lamb’s ears and smooth jade succulents that beg to be touched. “It’s a place to relax and just sort of pay attention to the surroundings,” says Verzi. “It’s a garden for everyone.” 750 E. 88th St., Cleveland, 216-664-3103, rockefellerparkgreenhouse.org
