CLE Takeout Guide: Hecks Express
This fast-casual take on Hecks of Ohio City and Hecks of Avon introduces takeout friendly options such as smoothie bowls and wraps.
“The name is the same, the brand is the same and the ingredients are the same, but it’s a different technique,” he says. “[It’s] focused on just a quick bite and as a breakfast and lunch spot.” To keep up with the hustle and bustle of the city’s core, Daoud created a menu that offers those famous burgers (we love the Rocky River burger with mushrooms, bacon, Swiss cheese and sour cream) alongside pastries, wraps, fresh juices and smoothie bowls.
Even longtime favorites, such as the salted caramel bread pudding, get a second life here: Instead of being baked in the traditional way, it’s made with French toast. “At Hecks in Ohio City and Avon, we do a Saturday and Sunday brunch,” Daoud says. “But we offer big breakfast items all day long at Hecks Express.”
Try This: The Turmeric Chicken Shawarma ($8) is wrapped in pita and comes with a kick thanks to curry and garlic
aioli.
