A Stylish Trio: Chrissy Lotenero is no stranger to grooming — after all, the Mayfield Heights resident owns a local salon, Hair by Chrissy Danielle. So it’s no surprise that her pets, a brown rosetted Bengal cat named Sassy and a rescue pit bull named Prince, are among the most stylish in town (as evidenced by Sassy’s pink leash and Gucci collar).
Group Therapy: Lotenero recently added Sassy, who has a handful of nicknames — Sassypants, Sass McGee, Sassafras, Miss McGee, Sass Master, Sassy Marie (her full name for when she’s being mischievous) — to her home in 2020. “She was my quarantine kitty. I told Prince I bought him a baby and came home to find them cuddling in his crate.”
Paw-er Couple: Sassy and Prince are best friends — most of the time. While most days Sassy can be found sitting in windows and cuddling with Prince, she doesn’t mind giving him some grief here and there. “She will antagonize her brother by batting his tail and sneaking up on him. Also, when I tell her it’s bedtime, she runs into the living room to get Prince off the couch.”
Pampered Life: From photo shoots to splurging on Sassy’s favorite snacks (Temptations Shrimpy Shrimps) and making TikToks, Lotenero loves pampering and spending time with her pets. She even indulges by getting Sassy manicures at the vet. “She’s so sassy, it takes three people to trim her claws.”
Lesson Learned: Lotenero started letting Sassy eat her breakfast and dinner on the counter — a move to prevent Prince from eating it. “This led to her falling behind the fridge one night because she climbs everything. But they make every day better. Their unconditional love and laughs make me smile no matter what!”
