Artists use various forms of media — from wood to metal to printing presses — to replicate multiple copies of an image in these prints drawn from the Smithsonian American Art Museum. This distinctive art form allows artists such as David Hockney, whose lithograph Views of Hotel Well III (pictured) is one of more than 80 prints in the exhibit, the ability to express their vision over and over.
