Blu Jazz
Why we love it: This new spot aims to keep Akron's jazz tradition alive with an entire gallery of rare album covers and photos. The menu, a collaboration between the club and upstairs neighbor 3 Point Restaurant, includes dishes such as crab cakes ($12). "The quality of the ingredients and the care that goes into these dishes — you wouldn't think you're at a basement jazz club," says general manager Colin Cook. Bop Stop
Why we love it: The Music Settlement took over this Ohio City landmark thanks to a generous donation from its previous jazz-loving owners. "It's first and foremost about the music," says general manager Gabe Pollack. But to keep tummies quiet during shows, he's forged a partnership with the Cleveland Culinary Launch and Kitchen to make dishes such as coconut-curry butternut squash soup ($6). Nighttown
Why we love it: A 50-year-old Cleveland Heights institution, Nighttown is an old soul with modern flair thanks to executive chef Nathan Sansone's revamp of its classic menu. "We're doing a lot of techniques," he says of entrees such as pork shank with roasted veggies ($19). Take 5 Rhythm and Jazz Tapas Lounge
Why we love it: With a view of the lake, white tablecloths and wood paneling, it's a good spot for a show and Southern-inspired tapas such as Stevie Wonder's Fried Green Tomatoes ($7.50). "We wanted to bring back almost a supper club type of environment where you could go and get a meal and a show," says co-owner Brian Gresham.

Vosh
Why we love it: Reclaimed materials play up this jazz club's former days as the Bonne Bell cosmetics factory. "We took this warehouse and created a neat club from it," says owner Mickey Krivosh. Kitchen offerings — think Maine lobster pizza ($16) — come from Krivosh's Georgetown restaurant next door. Go see: Ernie Krivda and the Fat Tuesday Big Band on March 3. 1414 Riverside Drive, Lakewood, 216-767-5202, voshclub.com
