1. Sticky situations
“The most popular thing in my bag is double-sided tape, for a variety of things. Usually it’s for straps,” she says.
2. Spot check
A quick-acting stain remover is a great idea, like a detergent pen or club soda. Check the instructions for the fabric of your gown.
3. Sock it to ’em
Spare nylons for the ladies and dress socks for the men are essential.
4. Need it, got it
An assortment of OTC meds like aspirin and Tums, hand creams and any other personal items the bride might require.

“I have a needle-and-thread kit that is pre-threaded with black, white and the color of the bridesmaid gowns,” she says. Great for buttons, rips and tears, the kit should also contain safety pins.

1. The night before, get a good night’s rest.
2. Have food available before the event, and make sure everyone — including you and your bridesmaids — eats.
3. Include the bride and groom in the final head count given to the caterer. “You’d be surprised how many couples forget this,” Newman says.
