Shakespeare's dizzying labyrinth of forests, fairies and unrequited love is crossing the globe in Cleveland State University Deptartment of Theatre and Dance's exotic spin on A Midsummer Night's Dream (Nov. 8-18). The group's premier production on the Allen Theatre main stage is going Bollywood for a spectacle set in the 1905 British Raj of India. "It is going to be an incredible set [with] costumes, original music and spectacular dancing," says director Michael L. Mauldin. "The world of the fairies, I think, is something that audiences have never seen before, because it's going to be primal and sexy and dangerous."
The theater district welcomed a 1947 Greyhound bus to the campus and shared more details about its plans for future restoration and transformation. By Sharon Holbrook
