Artist Ray Turner must like to travel. For Population, Turner has been trekking across the country painting oil portraits of the people he meets as a way to explore the nation's cultural makeup. His latest stop is Akron, where his ever-expanding exhibit will include 23 portraits of the city's community leaders and activists, such as Duane Crabbs who founded South Street Ministries. "Within these masses there are individual people who have individual stories that are very unique and very special," Turner says. The exhibit opens at the Akron Art Museum March 3.
