Race Relations
I was reading through the January issue when I got to Afi-Odelia E. Scruggs' "Race Results." Finally! Someone starts a real conversation. I'm a 50-year-old, white male and have seen my share of racial prejudice in that time. This past election really brought it front and center. I voted for President Obama not because he was black. I cast my vote because he was the best choice to make me proud of this country again. Scruggs' article hit home when she talks about tiptoeing around the conversation with her white friends. Almost everyone I know who is anti-Obama voted against him because he is black. It's just a shame that we can't put racism behind us and move forward.

Power Failure
The people you highlighted and praise represent the leaders who laid the foundation upon which Cleveland now stumbles and crumbles ("Passing the Power," December 2012). They were looking after their own interests. The proof certainly is in the fact that they allowed Forbes and Voinovich to cater to certain interests and wanted Forbes to be mayor.

A Cleveland Clue
I really enjoyed the 40th anniversary issue, but I was surprised not to see Les Roberts' Cleveland detective, Milan Jacovich, mentioned in "40 Reasons To Love Cleveland." He is surely another reason why I love the city.
