The Cleveland National Air Show cranks up the jets at Burke Lakefront Airport Sept. 3-5. In addition to the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, the Labor Day tradition features two U.S. Air Force fighters making their first joint appearance at any U.S. civilian air show: the sleek, fast F-35 Lightning II and F-22 Raptor stealth tactical fighters. “To see both of them flying together will take your breath away when you witness the raw power of these advanced machines,” says Air Show executive director Kim Dell. Aircrafts from the World War II, Korean or Vietnam eras fly alongside the F-35 Lightning II for the Heritage Flight, while the F-22 Raptor demonstrates its advanced maneuverability with sharp aerial turns, swoops and spins. Fans of the Caped Crusader can also gaze upon the 1966 Batmobile and the Batcopter, which actually takes to the air — unfortunately sans Batman and Robin. 1501 N.
