Waterloo Arts looks more like a ravin’ nightclub than a hip gallery. During DayGlo V, which runs Jan. 6-Feb. 12, black lights illuminate works from more than 30 Cleveland artists in bright shades of neon pink, yellow, blue and green. “These paintings or prints have incredible depth to them,” says Amy Callahan, executive director of Waterloo Arts. “They have this three-dimensional quality.” The fifth-annual show draws works from abstract splatter paintings to comic book-esque panels, all using Cleveland-based DayGlo Color Corp.’s new environmentally friendly paint. Highlighted by a go-go dance party Feb. 3 that includes a DJ and glow-in-the-dark face painting, the exhibit attracts more than art aficionados. “Sometimes the art scene can be a little intimidating,” says Callahan. “This show is not at all.” 15605 Waterloo Road, Cleveland, 216-692-9500, waterlooarts.org
