Mahall’s 20 Lanes’ Artist Talks series turns the concert venue into an intimate affair using Zoom and other platforms to shift gears and host speakers, such as musicians Osi Okoro and Cathalyn, who talk about their experiences and struggles. “[We wanted to] engage our patrons with stuff that might be more challenging,” says Andy Schumann, Mahall’s talent buyer. “Now’s a really good time to do that because everyone’s at home and wants to flex their intellectual muscles.”

Experts on Millionaire’s Row, music and more draw you in with their stories at this in-person series from Music Box Supper Club. While free, an optional three-course dinner ($20) ties into tales from the likes of photographer Janet Macoska or Cleveland History Center’s John Grabowski. But fear not, there are no PowerPoint lectures here. “This is entertainment. Let’s tell fun, interesting stories,” says Mike Miller, Music Box’s vice president.
