Plastic surgery isn’t just for Hollywood — growing numbers of Northeast Ohioans have been seeking a bit of nip-tuck, although most don’t ask for the dramatic “afters” usually seen on reality television shows. “Natural” and “me, only better” is the goal most area surgeons hear when patients request procedures. And today’s affordable procedures and accessible clinics make plastic surgery possible for those of us not earning a movie-star salary, says Dr. Gregory Fedele, Center for Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery, Willoughby Hills.
“Before, it was, ‘Who colors your hair?’ and now it’s, ‘Who does your Botox?’ ” Fedele says, only half joking.
“We don’t have the patient population like Beverly Hills, where people get a procedure every week,” says Dr. Michael Wojtanowski, The Ohio Clinic for Facial and Plastic Surgery, Westlake. “But we do have an interested patient population. Everyone has a self image, whether they are a CEO or a bricklayer.”
And the one thing most of us have in common is a desire to look our best, no matter our age.
