Fireworks take the shape of smiley faces, cubes and rings to brighten the sky above Coe Lake near City Hall. The fireworks launch from a bridge over the lake, which adds an extra flare. “You see them going up from the bottom, which is pretty cool, because you can see the entire reflection of the colors in the water,” says Mayor Cyril Kleem. 10 p.m., Near Berea Commons, Berea

The suburb’s 83-acre park hosts the annual display. The extra room lets up to 10,000 people crowd in, and tall trees surrounding the park reverberate the loud cracks of fireworks. “They shoot off about 360 fireworks right in a row, and it sounds like 400 canons going off,” says Don Holub, the city’s director of recreation. “I love that actually.” Dusk, 6679 SOM Center Road, Solon

Eye-popping colors such as fuchsia, lemon yellow and red, white and blue from 7,000 pyrotechnics light the sky over Clague Park. “By allowing people to see [fireworks] up close, you can really do something powerful, versus everyone being at home having their own little party,” says Roberto Sorgi, whose American Fireworks puts on the show.
