Kenny Crumpton, the suave “30-something” feature reporter on “Fox 8 News in the Morning” who’s famous for his “Kickin’ It With Kenny” segments, is decidedly single at the moment. Committed, he says, only to his greyhound, Boomer.
When he moved to Cleveland eight years ago from California, one of the first questions on his mind was where to go in Cleveland to meet single women.
“I asked everyone from all kinds of backgrounds and in all kinds of jobs,” he says. “In the top three of everyone I asked was the Cleveland Plays coed football league. I’ve played six or seven years, and I’ve probably been to 10 weddings of people who met there.”

Maybe even better than playing sports, Crumpton says, is the charity circuit. He calls it the hottest scene for singles, not just celebrities but successful professionals. Volunteer to work charity events or even just attend lots of them, and you’re bound to meet someone.
And when he does meet someone he wants to date, where does he take them?
For the foodie date: Blue Canyon in the summer. “They have one of the most amazing patios in the world,” says Crumpton. “It’s multilevel with a fire pit, waterfall and a bar with its own kitchen. You can do the ‘appetizer safari’ — order a bunch of noshers and dive in.”
For the date who likes to dress up and hit the town: Tremont. Crumpton starts with dinner at Fahrenheit. Then he “goes Norman Rockwell” and takes her down the street for ice cream at Tremont Scoops. He might buy her a keepsake from one of the galleries. He’ll finish the evening with a glass of wine at 806 Wine and Martini Bar.

For the jet-setter: The Warehouse District. He’ll start with pre-dinner cocktails at Metropolitan Café, head to Crop for appetizers, then to Brasa Grill for dinner with a nightcap at XO Prime Steakhouse.
