With The Phantom of the Opera hitting the State Theatre June 15 through July 10, we turned to Julia Wallace, Olmsted Performing Arts vocal instructor, to get a few tips for hitting the high notes.
“Just try to produce high notes — maybe with a squeal or some people laugh really high. Once we can actually make the sounds, the thing that makes the high note lovely is the way that we shape it in our mouth.”
