Filipino Pig Roast

Now in its 24th year, the Ohio Independent Film Festival features 20 features and shorts from around the globe, including films from Iran, Egypt and the United Kingdom. The 50-Year Policy Legacy of Mayor Carl B. Stokes: A Panel Discussion
Fifty years after his unprecedented election, there is still so much to learn about Cleveland’s most historic mayor. Moderated by Ideastream senior host/producer Rick Jackson, this City Club panel discussion will look at the legacy of the first black elected mayor of a major U.S. city by discussing some of Stokes’s major policy achievements during his time as mayor. Topics will range from his housing and police reforms to his infamous Cleveland: Now! initiative. Mini Maker Faire
Get into the DIY spirit as the Mini Maker Faire swings by Cleveland. For its fourth annual Cleveland run, the Faire will feature exhibits, demonstrations and activities to satisfy your hands-on curiosities. This year’s Cleveland Mini Maker Faire, sponsored by Make magazine, which hosts Maker Faires all over the world, will give attendees the chance to catapult leftover Halloween pumpkins, visit a mission to Mars exhibit and experience a 30-foot fire breathing dragon installation. Solon Fit Crawl
Before the holiday season hits full swing, stop by Solon for a day of wellness — you’re gonna need it. The Solon Fit Crawl — think of it as a bar crawl where instead of drinking you do exercises — will have stops at Barre3 Solon, Oasis Yoga and Fitness, Orange Theory Solon and Title Boxing Club. In addition to workouts at each of these locations, attendees receive a post-workout discount at Burntwood Tavern and will be entered into a raffle with prizes from local vendors.
