The United Service Organizations, or USO, has been supplying American soldiers with these items for the past 65 years. But these tangible objects, though in huge demand, pale in comparison to the intangible gift USO delivers time and again. With every care package, letter, movie, phone card and each Slim Jim smoky sausage, comes hope. Hope that lifts morale. Hope that makes it worthwhile to get up and continue fighting. Hope that breaks the monotony of weeks in a bunker.
