This is a suggestion to continue looking into uses for the Lake Shore power plant site ("Power Ranger," September 2015). It is my understanding that these power plants can sometimes have a huge salvage value. Demo and salvage contractors don't want the land, so they typically have a group they would sell it to and take advantage of the value in donating it.
FirstEnergy owns the property. I am guessing that working with them instead of around them would likely end with
all pretty happy.
Bad Blood
Is it necessary to curse in your "Comment from the Editor" (August 2015)? You repeated an expletive three times. I put out Cleveland Magazine for my guests and my family. Such vulgarity has no place in this magazine. Also, why do your writers insist on comparing Cleveland venues with other cities? The 9's Azure Sun Lounge "feels like a South Beach club" and Restore Cold Pressed "feels more NYC." To suggest we should strive to be like South Beach or New York misses the point.
