Wood Shop
My wife and I visited Metro Hardwoods yesterday and bought three black gum boards for some shelves ("Tree Reign," December 2011). Where else can you get 1-inch-thick wood with amazing grain and bark edges, have it planed, and also have such great conversation? Anyone wanting to make even simple items with great wood needs to purchase wood from Dean.

Are you serious? Allie LaForce is the best you can do for Most Interesting People (January 2012). She is about as interesting as Paris Hilton. They have a lot in common actually: born into money, and pageant looks, and I guess that's it. She's straight out of college and handed a job over more seasoned sports professionals because of looks, not talent.

I've known Allie for a couple years. She has an incredible knowledge and passion for sports reporting. Her personality, charm and desire to win are perfect for the job. She is off to a tremendous start in her young career. We will see her at the national level in the future.

Erin Huber started her social justice work in 2004 with a project called "Covering Cleveland" by providing blankets to Cleveland's homeless. My daughter assisted her with this project and has been friends with her since junior high school.
