The year 1980 most certainly did not rock. That's what the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominators told music fans when they included no bands with a 1980 debut on its September list of nominees (bands are eligible for induction 25 years after the release of their first album). And that's OK because the industry honchos seem to be falling behind when it comes to enshrining some of the more influential rock acts of the 70s. (Maybe it's that cloud of disco music that's confusing everything.) Since the new class of inductees is usually announced in December, we offer our take on three overlooked bands that voters should induct now, as well as three worthy acts that, for some reason, haven't made the ballot yet.
